What is Personal Information?

Personal information includes any information about an identifiable individual. It is not usually information such as the name, title, business address, or telephone number of an employee of an organization.

Your Privacy Rights – All businesses engaged in commercial activities must comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”). PIPEDA gives you rights concerning the privacy of your personal information.

Redwood Hotel Group, is responsible for the personal information we collect and hold. To ensure this accountability, we have developed policies and procedures with the objective of protecting personal information, and have trained our lawyers and support staff about our policies and practices.

Why does Redwood Hotel Group, need personal information?

Redwood Hotel Group, collects, uses and discloses personal information in the course of providing services to our clients. Specifically, some of the purposes are:

  • to manage our client relationships, including performing conflict checks and credit checks, if necessary, on prospective clients
  • to provide real estate services in the course of business transactions, where the personal information is disclosed to other parties involved in the transfer, mortgage, sale, lease etc.
  • to evaluate client satisfaction through communication with clients and other individuals
  • to comply with legal requirements which mandate the release of personal information
  • to maintain our document system, precedent files, and memorandum bank
  • to protect our clients by checking for internal error, theft, etc., as needed or as required
  • to distribute direct marketing materials concerning our services, developments in the industry, and other company matters. If you tell us that you do not wish to continue receiving information about our services, or about new developments, we will not send you any further material.

 What personal information do we collect?

We collect personal information such as your name, address, telephone number, and any information that is necessary and related to the services we are providing you with.

How do we collect your personal information?

We collect information only by lawful and fair means and not in an unreasonably intrusive way. Wherever possible, we collect your personal information directly from you.

Consent – In most cases, we shall ask you to specifically consent if we collect, use, or disclose your personal information. Normally, we ask for your consent in writing, but in some circumstances, we may accept your oral consent.

Sometimes, your consent may be implied through your conduct with us. Disclosure of your Personal Information – Redwood Hotel Group, does not disclose your personal information to any third party to enable them to market their products and services. For example, we do not provide our client mailing lists to others. Under certain circumstances, Redwood Hotel Group, will disclose your personal information:

  • when we are required or authorized by law to do so, for example if a court issues a subpoena; when you have consented to the disclosure where it is necessary to establish or collect fees
  • if we engage a third party to provide administrative services to us (like computer back-up services or archival file storage) and the third party is bound by our Privacy Policy

  • When the real estate services we are providing to you require us to give your information to third parties, your consent will be implied, unless you tell us otherwise.
  • Updating Your Information – Since we use your personal information to provide real estate based services to you, it is important that the information be accurate and up-to-date. If during the course of the relationship any of your information changes, please inform us so that we can make any necessary changes to our records.

Is My Personal Information Secure?

Redwood Hotel Group, takes all reasonable precautions to ensure that your personal information is kept safe from loss, unauthorized access, modification or disclosure. Among the steps taken to protect your information are:

  • premises security
  • restricted access to files that contain personal information
  • deploying technological safeguards like security software and firewalls to prevent hacking or unauthorized computer access
  • internal password and security policies.

Access to Your Personal Information – You may ask for access to any personal information we hold about you. Summary information is available on request.

More detailed requests which require archive or other retrieval costs may be subject to our normal professional and disbursement fees.

Correcting Errors – If Redwood Hotel Group, holds information about you and you advise us that it is not accurate, complete and up-to-date, Redwood Hotel Group, will take reasonable steps to correct it.

Can I be Denied Access to My Personal Information?

Your rights to access your personal information are not absolute. We may deny access when:

  • denial of access is required or authorized by law
  • information relates to existing or anticipated legal proceedings against you
  • granting you access would have an unreasonable impact on other people’s privacy
  • protecting our companies rights and property
  • the request is frivolous or vexatious.

If we deny your request for access to your personal information, or refuse a request to correct information, we shall explain why. Redwood Hotel Group, does not use your Social Insurance Number as a way of identifying or organizing the information we hold about you.

Credit Bureaus – To help us make credit decisions about clients, prevent fraud, check the identity of new clients and prevent money-laundering, we may, on occasion, request information about you from the files of consumer reporting agencies.

Communicating with Us – You should be aware that e-mail is not a 100% secure medium, and you should be aware of this when contacting us to send personal or confidential information.

Abdullah Al Rifaie

Abdullah brings more than 20 years experience managing projects in Canada and Internationally. He has successfully completed ground up new build hotel projects under the Delta, Marriott, Hilton and IHG brands. At Delta Hotels, as Director of Project Management, he led the project management team that completed the renovations for 12 owned assets. Prior to that he worked at CBRE as a Senior Project Manager where he managed the complete renovation of the Delta Hotel, Fredericton. Abdullah has held the position of Project Director at Chamberlain Architects and Construction Managers, managing multiple new build hotel projects including Holiday Inns, Hampton Inns, Residence Inn, Comfort Inn, Best Western, and Hyatt Hotels a cross Canada

Kristina Branitskaya

Kristina, leads the company’s human resources and administration functions globally, across the entire organization. Her responsibilities include the coordination of all efforts throughout the portfolio related to recruitment, training, performance management and employee benefits. Anisha Solanki

Anisha is responsible for Risk Assessment and serves in the role as Internal Auditor for Redwood Hotels Group , providing independent assurance that Redwood Hotels Group’s risk management, governance and internal control processes are operating effectively. Anisha has extensive experience in internal audit, risk management and business process improvement in a Leading Financial institution. She has successfully established processes and framed policies that have significantly reduced TAT from 21 days to 5 days through simple data analysis

Ricardo began his career in Toronto, Canada working for the Starwood Hotel Brand. His hospitality experience spans over thirty years in both hotel management operations and corporate brand support. Ricardo spent many years with Delta Brand Hotels corporate office in the capacity of Director Brand Performance and Franchise Services. Prior to joining Redwood Hotels, his most recent position was Director Operations, where he supported a portfolio that included Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Radisson and Choice Hotels..

Sajini is responsible for the day-to- day oversight of all accounting functions. Her experience encompasses accounting regulations and standards across North America and Internationally. Pranav Anand

Pranav is the Chief Financial Officer with over 12 years experience in the areas of Corporate Compliance,
Government Relationship Management and Financial Management. He is responsible for management oversight of the day-to-day activities related to all Hotels within the Portfolio, overseeing the monthly budget reporting and operating results, budgeting and controlling Capex. He is also involved in the financial side of the acquisition process of the Hotels annual budgets and managing the Capital Expenditures. Pranav is committed to facilitate the success of the company by providing leadership and coordination of the company’s financial functions and developing & implementing systems and procedures to streamline operations and enhance profit and performance.

Kerry Ann Kotani

The CMO of Redwood Hotels is responsible for all aspects of business development, marketing, sales and revenue generation. With more than 25 years of hospitality experience, an expert in all levels of hotel sales & marketing. Experience includes Senior Executive Positions with a leading global hotel management company, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Westin and Sheraton Hotels, overseeing multiple properties worldwide and managing owner relations. Ms. Kotani was responsible for the development and execution of a $150 Million strategic capital plan to successfully renovate a 1300 room landmark hotel. During her time with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Kerry Ann was responsible for annual revenues in excess of $300Million. In addition to holding positions on numerous Tourism boards both Provincial and Federal, sales & marketing advisory board seats with major hotel brands she has extensive knowledge and experience working with both B2B and B2C entities worldwide.

Alan Dourado

The President and Chief Operating Officer of Redwood Hotels brings over 25 years of hospitality operations, development and asset management experience to Redwood Hotels. Responsibilities at Redwood Hotels include new business development, strategy and execution. Experience includes various Senior Executive and C level positions in Europe, Africa, the Caribbean and North America in operations, sales & marketing, and revenue management with Hilton Hotels Worldwide, InterContinental Hotels Group, Turnberry Associates and most recently as COO of Westmont Hospitality Group, a top global hotel management company. In this most recent role, Mr. Dourado was responsible for over $800 Million in revenues and through his leadership improved NOI margins from 20% to 30%, while over a 5-year period increased the valuation of the portfolio by more than $120 Million.

Rajesh Parekh is the founder of  Redwood Hotels with more than 33 years experience in Hotel and Real Estate Development.  Rajesh has successfully built a company that has grown into a leading hospitality organization within the industry, as an owner and manager of  9 hotels totalling more than 1,000 rooms across Canada and the United States.  His knowledge and skill as a hotel operator has allowed him to expand  his partnership with prominent hotel brands including Marriott, Hilton, and Intercontinental Hotels Group.   Rajesh leads all efforts of the company related to acquisitions, investment and capital markets.

Rajesh’s vision is to expand into a dominant hospitality organization, partnering with capital investors to grow a portfolio of world class assets across North America and Internationally.
